Personal Statement 個(gè)人陳述: R focused on his dedication and commitment to track. R described a specific race to show the level of professionalism and training he gave to the sport throughout his high school career. Using this to speak about his discipline and passion in general, R portrayed a well-rounded profile.
R同學(xué)將他的重點(diǎn)都放在田徑上面。他通過描述一次特殊的競(jìng)賽向大家展示了他的專業(yè)度及整個(gè)高中生涯為這項(xiàng)運(yùn)動(dòng)所付出的努力。通過談?wù)撟约旱募o(jì)律性及熱情，R同學(xué)向大家展示了一個(gè)全面發(fā)展的自己。
Counselor’s comments 顧問評(píng)語: R had the biggest heart of any student we’ve worked with. His care for and interest in those around him shone through the big smile and warm greetings he showered on any he met. Allowing this heart and genuine interest in his friends, family and community to shine through in his essays and applications is what we focused on achieving. R often allowed the stress of school, parental expectations, or personal goals cloud the joy and enthusiasm he so naturally possessed. Coaching him to adopt better study habits, implement time management skills and embrace his strengths set the stage for painting this portrait in his applications. He further recognized and embraced these strengths through the development and execution of his business project, BetterChina100k, in which he raised over 200,000RMB to fund start-up companies focused on social entrepreneurship in China. His smile was never bigger nor brighter than when he received his acceptance letter from Cornell, which he had feared would elude him due to inconsistencies in grades and lower than hoped test scores. R thanked us again and again for believing in him and thereby challenging him to believe in himself.
R同學(xué)是目前我遇到的少有的胸懷寬廣的人。透過他燦爛的笑容和熱情周到的問候， 我們能感受到他對(duì)周圍人的關(guān)注與關(guān)心。真誠待人，關(guān)心他人，體現(xiàn)在他的申請(qǐng)材料中的對(duì)家庭和社區(qū)的關(guān)注正是我們一直致力于達(dá)成的目標(biāo)。R天生樂觀積極，但有時(shí)候迫于學(xué)業(yè)的壓力、家人過高的期待、 以及自身的期許，R的心情和熱情難免受到打擊。通過學(xué)習(xí)新的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣，掌握時(shí)間管理技巧并且利用自身優(yōu)勢(shì)， R在申請(qǐng)文書中刻畫了一個(gè)完整和優(yōu)秀的自己。通過策劃和執(zhí)行BetterChina100k這個(gè)項(xiàng)目，R進(jìn)一步了解和運(yùn)用了上面所學(xué)的知識(shí)，并最終募集到了20萬人民幣，用于支持中國那些具有創(chuàng)業(yè)精神剛剛起步的公司。R曾擔(dān)心學(xué)業(yè)成績(jī)的起伏和沒有達(dá)到自己期待水平的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化考試成績(jī)影響到Cornell的錄取, 所以當(dāng)收到Cornell的錄取通知時(shí)，R 高興的無以言表。 R再三感謝我們給予他的信任和督促，促使他不斷進(jìn)步。
